The kind of work we choose to do determines how easily we can scale ourselves and multiply our impact. How does focusing on an industry we know every well make the process even easier? What can we do in our businesses right now that can give us residual, passive income down the line? Why is it so powerful to educate our clients?
On this episode, TwoSix Digital founder and chief strategist, Dave Serino shares on how he’s leveraging his accumulated expertise.
"The more efficient a process you create, the more profitability that can be found at the end of that line." -Dave Serino
The two types of strategy work
There are 2 types of people that do strategy. The people that are paid to learn their client’s industry, and the people who sell access to their accumulated expertise. Clients aren’t paying by the hour, they are paying for access to a lifetime of intellectual property and that’s where value is exchanged for little effort.
Why educating your clients about the strategies is so powerful
The more clients know, the less the ramp up time you’ll have, the more fun they are to work with, and the more nimble you can be. It provides value back to them, and it will continue to produce results and impact, even when the implementation phase is over.
Level 2 Scalability
The first level of scalability is leveraging yourself. The second level is scaling it through your team by teaching them your process, but there will still be a limit of how much they can leverage.
When it comes to strategy, the most valuable and best thing to leverage is your knowledge of an industry, a niche or territory because it means that people can pay for access to your intellectual property. That’s something you can package into a one-to-many service, and can help you nurture the right mindset about business models. What you want ultimately is to create residual, passive income that can sustain you for years to come.
