How can we strongly focus on goals so that we can achieve them at a high level? What is the secret to actually achieving something, and why does it have more to do with who we are, not what we do? What mistakes are a lot of content creators making?

On this episode, legendary entrepreneur, top-rated national speaker and author, Jim Cathcart shares on his journey and why persistence played a huge role in his success.

"As optimistic as our society is, we still present limitations more than we present optimistic views toward possibilities." -Jim Cathcart

3 Things We Learned

Why people struggle with focus

Because of all the access we have to technology and social media, people have lost the ability to make clear decisions, commit to achieving them, and be willing to work on one thing. This means that no one is ever able to push one thing up the hill significantly, which is what leads to achievement.

The truth about goals and how to achieve them

When you set a goal, it’s not automatic that it will just happen. The achievement of the goal is something bestowed upon you by becoming a person who can accomplish it.

How to craft content for a book from your blog or a podcast

Most people focus on the next big idea and hot topic when it comes to their blogs and podcasts. Look at what you have already.  If you’ve have mileage on your podcast and/or blog, you already have a brand and a point of view. Go back and find out what that brand is and which aspects of it would appeal to the broadest audience.

Substantial achievement is within your grasp, if you’re willing to put the work in. The hardest work we have to do is in focusing in on that goal, eliminating all distractions, and staying committed till we’ve taken significant action. We need to slow down and think about the intersection of our ability, passion, the opportunities and commitment to what we want. On top of that, we have to think about how to shift ourselves to align with the opportunity. Don’t go toward thing you want to achieve. Go toward being the person who can achieve it.
